2003	05	08	Ryutopia, Niigata City Performing Arts Center, held performances of contemporary dance several times from when they opened. And, they would like to promote contemporary dance to enhance their originality. In May 2003, Jo Kanamori was cast a musical Sans famille and danced at Ryutopia. Mr. Masaharu Tashiro, a member of Niigata City staff, was impressed greatly by Kanamori's dance and acting, and appealed to Akira Shinoda, the mayer of Niigata City, to offer Kanamori the artistic director of dance division of Ryutopia, then they decided so. Kanamori proposed establishment of residential dance company as the condition of acceding to their offer, and it was accepted.
2003	11		Noism04 member audition was held. Appricants were around 200 person, and 10 dancers were selected through 3 staged examination.
2003	12	19 ?	Establishment of Noism04 was announced. Artistic Director: Jo Kanamori, Dancer: Naoya Aoki, Sawako Iseki, Yoshiko Kinoshita, Nami Sato, Yasutake Shimaji, Yuka Seike, Satoko Takahashi, Tomohiko Tsujimoto, Shintaro Hirahara and Mika Matsumuro.

Kanamori said as follows; When he started Noism in 2004, he looked to establish the theatrical culture 100 years later, and he would take it himself first 30 years. He would like to continue Noism. He hope that Noism to be what citizens beleive as first class in the world.

It will be the first application of the new system announced by Niigata City on October 29, 2021. 2. Noism will have two departments, the international activity department (Sawako Iseki will become artistic director) and the regional activity department (Yuki Yamada will become artistic director), and Kanamori will become general artistic director of Noism company Niigata. 3. 3 companies system of Noism0, Noism1 and Noism2 will be continued. According to media reports, Kanamori said "The next five years will be five years for Noism to continue. I hope it will continue even if I retire."
